One of the animals is seen passing through the glass surface, as if preparing to leap from the water. The table is composed entirely of detailed brass work, with a glass tabletop and mounted on a marble base.
A fast swimmer, the common dolphin travels in large schools in warm waters and is noted for leaping alongside boats for long distances. Its life span is about 50 years.
