After holding the position of music director of Dusseldorf, Mendelssohn accepted a similar calling in Leipzig. Here he used his talent to bring the Gewandhaus Orchestra to such heights that Leipzig became the musical capitol fo Germany.Mozart As a prodigy pf his father Leopold, Mozart composed his first public performance at the age of 5. While touring France, England and Italy with his father, Mozart was introduced to many forms of musical composition, giving him the base of his musical styles.Schubert Schubert was originally trained as a schoolteacher and joined what is today known as the Vienna Boys Choir. As his talents surfaced, Antonio Salleri offered to train him personally. With pressure from his family, Schubert became a educator at his father school until breaking away to become an independent tutor. Upon his death at the age of 31, Schubert had produced more masterpieces that any other composer in history.Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky became a serious composer in his mid teens, before continuing his studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
