Cargo Saddlebag (back carrier) (Black Weight 12 lbs Boxed size 24 x 7.5 x 7.5)

The Cargo Saddlebag is a convenient way to carry 14 cu feet of gear behind your car. The biggest advantages: no aerodynamic drag and it's easy to load. The Cargo Saddlebag hangs from your vehicle's luggage rack with 2 inch wide nylon straps with quick release buckles. Pads under the straps protect your car. Handles built into each side allow two people to hold the load, unclick the buckle and carry gear to camp or your motel room in one trip.

Included with every Cargo Saddlebag are two bottom anti-sway straps that attach beneath your vehicle and a long 2 inch wide support strap that can be used one of two ways. In the middle photo above, the thirds support straps goes under the bag and to the forward cross bar helping distribute the weight. It can also run inside the read door and around the width of the bag (similar to a backpack hip belt) to hold the carrier fast against the rear door, also taking some of the weight and acting as an anti-sway device.
Cargo Saddlebag hangs below the rear window and will not obstruct the driver's visibility. The straps can easily be routed over or behind rear window wipers. Depending on the items to be loaded and the user's flexibility, the Cargo Saddlebag can be used with a rear mount spare tire. If the top rear of the vehicle has a plastic spoiler or other fragile vehicle trim, the user should consider the weight of the load on the straps.
For vehicles without a luggage rack, it is possible to suspend the Cargo Saddlebag with car clips and straps from the top of the hatch door (steel frame, not on glass) . The clips and straps would be optional items.
Size: 40 wide x 28 high x 22 deep. Capacity 14.25 cubic feet (about the size of a medium car trunk) . #10 self-repairing coil zipper runs 3/4 around the top with two zipper pulls.
We use thick dual layer HydroTuff material. UV resistant on the outside, waterproof vinyl on the inside. The carrier has a great canvas, sturdy feel.
