Alberto is a successful young doctor who came dangerously close to not being born, all because of a rigid society that can’t forgive youthful indiscretion. His mother, Maria Elena, was seduced by a cowardly man who left her to fend for herself upon learning she was pregnant. When the girl’s parents insist she end the pregnancy, Maria Elena refuses to do such a thing. In an act of heroism, Dolores, Maria Elena’s nana, rescues the child and raises him as her own. Destiny later brings Alberto and his birth mother together, both unaware of the bond that unites them.
